A short movie selected for the Belgian National Price and TV-show ‘De Canvascollectie’.
What About American History’ is an associative journey into a world full of masks, tv and mystery. It explored new visual forms in video and narrative. And while doing so it comments on a contemporary America and how we, Frank&Robbert/Robbert&Frank (but also the bigger current generation), are influenced by its culture.

Under impulse of videoartist Jimmy Hendrickx, Frank&Robbert/Robbert&Frank, together with LA based actor and filmmaker Kristian Van Der Heyden collaborated in the foundation of a new performance and video art institute called PORT ACTIF! A fast growing international community of video and performance artists organizing regular lectures and screenings, workshops, exhibitions, … all over the world.

The Whale
The last 7 years we have documented our own lives. The things we shot were shot by coincidence, in a very random way. Now, we try to use this footage as the base for our full length feature film. The film is a sort of magical dance, like true Jeckel- and Hydes. Building a universe of our own, a upper- and an underworld. The Whale is the medium of change.

Tenstoonstelling/installatie door Robbert&Frank i.s.m. De pekelharingbewoners en Klaas Deroo. Naar aanleiding van de Marcel Broodthaers-kotroute georganiseerd door AmuseeVous hebben Robbert&Frank hun koten omgebouwd tot tijdelijke musea. De Pekelharing (Robbert’s Kot) bevatte naast een underground cinema, een theehuisje en een shop ook een installatie genaamd ‘De Eenzame Koning’.

Tenstoonstelling/installatie door Robbert&Frank i.s.m. De pekelharingbewoners en Klaas Deroo. Verwrongen gezichten en vies vlees springen uit een zwartkleurige achtergrond. Groene lijn- vlakken geven het zwevende tafereel iets magisch. Als getormenteerde foetussen lijken ze voor eeuwig aan elkaar te trekken in een door een barokke kader begrensde ruimte.
Ascension
